PGES HAPPENINGS
A former student of our PGES family, Johnathon Arnold, is a 7th grade student at Eastside Middle School is working hard to earn his Eagle Scout Award. Please see the letter below from Johnathan soliciting your help with his community service project. We appreciate your support.
Parents or Guardians of Pleasant Grove Elementary Students,
Hello, I am Johnathon Arnold, alumni of Pleasant Grove Elementary School. I am also in Boy Scout Troop 776, and I am doing my Eagle Scout Project at Pleasant Grove. For my Eagle Scout Project, I am going to clean up and landscape one of the interior courtyards, but I need your help. I am asking you to donate objects for my project. Here is a list of what I am asking for:
- Mulch (any kind will do)
- Picnic Tables
- Plants (preferably ones that bloom in the spring and stay green until winter)
- Grass Seed
- Weed ‘n’ Feed
- Bird Feeders
- Bird Seed
- Sheppard’s Hooks
- Or anything else you think will help us out

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
PGE Families- Please remember Tuesday, May 21 is a regular scheduled school day. All students are required to be present. Thank you in advance for your support!
Our Summer Office Hours – Beginning May 28, 2013 school office hours are 8:00am to 12:00pm, Monday – Thursday, and Friday closed. Our building will be CLOSED to the public from June 24 – July 8. The Central Office (BCBE) will be open from 7:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday, and 7:30 – 11:30am on Friday. Please call 869-8000 if you need assistance during this period. Regular School hours will resume July 29, 2013.
Classroom rosters for the 2013 – 14 school year will be posted on the front doors on July 29.
Grade Level Supply Lists will be sent home on the last day in your child’s Tuesday Folder.
Open House for the 2013 – 14 school year is:
Kindergarten: Thursday, 8/1 from 6:00 – 7:30pm
Grades 1-5: Monday, 8/5 from 6:00 – 7:30pm
On behalf of the entire PGES staff I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support and involvement in your child’s educational journey this year. Our students have worked incredibly hard this year and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help them grow and learn 175 days of the year. We hope you have an enjoyable, safe summer with your families. We will see you in August rested from summer break and ready to learn!
