Winter M.A.P. Testing begins this week. Each class, Kindergarten through 5th grade will take assessment in Reading and Math in the next few weeks. Teachers and students have worked together to set individual MAP goals for this year. Be sure to ask your child about his/her goal. We’ll use these results to determine any needed adjustments to our instruction and matching our instruction to our child’s individual skill levels. Please encourage your child to do their best on their designated MAP testing day. Below are some ways we will be celebrating scores with students at the end of MAP testing in January:
- The class with the highest percentage of students meeting/exceeding their goals in reading and math will win a Superhero Xbox party with Ms. Whicker.
- The top 5 students who make the most growth since Fall from each grade level in reading and math AND the top 5 students who have the highest overall RIT scores from each grade level in Reading and Math will be invited to a board game/hot cocoa party ~ “Superhero Style”.
Parents, we need your help! The PTO is hosting our annual Sweets with Santa on Saturday, December 14 from 2-5 p.m. We are in need of sweet treats(cookies, cupcakes, breads, candies, etc.) for the Bake Sale that day. If you would be willing to bake/bring in cookies for that day, please contact Dawn Hawkins, Volunteer Coordinator, by next Monday, 12/2 with what kind and how many cookies you will be bringing. You can contact Ms. Hawkins at 869-3400 or email@example.com. Thank you for all that you do, parents! Your time and involvement to PGE is greatly appreciated!
Any changes to your child’s transportation must be sent in writing. Children will be sent home their normal way (bus, car, YMCA) unless we receive a written notice from parents. We’ve had a few situations where students were unsure what to do at dismissal becuase parents had told them one thing, but a written notice was not sent. We appreciate your cooperation so that children may arrive home safely each day.
