What is the Science Club exactly?
The purpose of the science club is to further the scientific knowledge of the world around us in a way that is both fun and innovative
What about the Marine Biology trip I've heard so much about?
The Science Club takes a special trip to Florida every year for Marine Biology Camp. The experience is one of a kind and is one of the most amazing things one will ever do in high school. Imagine this: While the rest of your class is at school in their desks, you are soaking up the sun in the Keyes of Florida. On this trip you will be visiting:
- Seaworld: Visit every marine animal you can think of and learning about their habitats while taking an adrenaline-filled ride on Atlantis, a water flume and a roller coaster all packed into one incredible ride, and the Kraken, a unique roller coaster that will leave you confused about where you are.
- Sea Camp: Come and stay a few days at Sea Camp, where you do everything from dissect squids and algae to snorkeling in a coral reef (Lou Keye) complete with barracudas and manta rays to swimming with sharks. How many people can actually boast an accomplishment such as that?
- The Everglades: That's right. The place with all the alligators! Jump on the largest fanboat you've ever seen and take the wildest and most unique ride of your life on one of the world's slowest moving rivers. You also get to see many other animals while walking on the top of the river itself! There are many more things to do here, including hiking through some thickly wooded trails and getting your picture taken while holding an alligator.
- Epcot at Disneyworld: One of the funnest places you can ever go! Here there's a whole world (actually, there's twelve) of things to do! Take a trip to Mars and see what it feels like to actually experience taking off on an actualy spaceship on MISSION: SPACE...hop in a newly constructed car and go through TEST TRACK to see what it really takes to make a great car (includes crash test, so wear your seatbelt!). After that you can visit eleven different countries without leaving Epcot. There's China, Norway, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Mexico...and each place has imported clothes and other gifts from those places!
