DRIVER’S PERMIT/LICENSE – NO PASS – NO DRIVE LAW
In accordance with KRS 159.051 and all other applicable Kentucky laws, any individual attending Bullitt County Public Schools, who has not successfully completed high school and is under eighteen years of age, shall meet the following criteria before becoming eligible to receive a driver’s permit or intermediate license or license.
q A student must be deemed academically successful when he/she has received passing grades in at least four (4) courses or the equivalent of four courses.
q A student does not have nine (9) or more unexcused absences in the preceding semester.
The principal of the school shall grant verification upon request of the qualified student indicating the eligibility of the student to be issued a driver’s permit or license.
In the event any individual under the age of eighteen, possessing a driver’s permit or license who has reenrolled as a student in Bullitt County Public Schools fails to maintain the standards established to retain their driving privileges, the principal of the school the student attends or attended shall submit the student’s name to the Superintendent of Bullitt County School. Within ten (10) days after receiving notification, the superintendent shall report the student’s name and Social Security number to the Transportation Cabinet.
Students must complete a statement of eligibility form, including a guardian signature, and provide BCHS with 24 hours to process the eligibility request.
