Bullitt Central High SchoolHistory Of Our School
IN 1970, Bullitt County's three high schools, Shepherdsville, Lebanon Junction, and Mount Washington, were consolidated into Bullitt Central High School. BCHS opened its doors in the fall of that year with a student enrollment of 1250 in grades 10-12 and a faculty of 55. In 1976, the first ninth grade class entered. Bullitt Central has graduated over 9,000 students. Of these, about thirty percent have continued their education through college or technical school and about ten perctent have joined the armed services. BC has hosted foreign exchange students from Asia, Europe, Mexico, and South America. Bullitt Central graduates are working and studying throughtout the US and Europe. Among them are dentists, physicians, police officers, military personnel, attorneys, broadcasters and journalists, state conservation officers, engineers, accountants, ministers, nurses, teachers, morticians, and jockeys.
