3/08/10 - The Archery team won 1st place in both 6th grade team and 7th.8th grade team divisions this weekend at Regional’s.  We will now be going to state on March 23 at the Conventional Center Downtown. The following archers placed.  6th grade girls: 1st place Tiffany Prell - 265, 2nd place Katherine Jump - 247, 3rd place Sarah Link - 242, 4th place Emily Miles - 237, and 5th place Brianna Clark - 231.  6th grade boys: 2nd place James Skaggs - 252 and 4th place Sam Wilson - 249. 7th/8th grade girls: 2nd place Marissa Eschman - 266 and 5th place Alyssa Kelly - 246.  7th/8th grade boys: 4th place Brain Leewe - 262 and 5th place Craig English - 260.

3/04/10 - Attention Students and Parents:  The 8th Grade Dance is scheduled for Saturday, May 15th.

3/01/10 - Forty-four Eastside Middle School Band students under the direction of Cheri Greer participated in the 2010 Kentucky Music Educators Association District Solo & Ensemble Festival at East Oldham Middle School in Oldham County on Saturday, February 27th. Band students prepared individual solos and ensembles such as duets, trios, and quartets.  Student performances were judged on Tone Quality, Intonation, Interpretation, Technique, and Musicality.  Students could receive ratings of Distinguished (I), Proficient (II), Apprentice (III), Novice (IV), or Comments Only on their performance. EMS band students received 34 Distinguished Ratings and 4 Proficient Ratings for a total of 38 events.  Click here to see the results.

2/23/10 - Eastside placed placed first in both the 6th grade team division and 7th/8th grade team division of the Bullitt East Archery Invitational over the weekend.  Top finishers are listed below.  6th grade team: 1st - Tiffany Prell, 2nd - Emily Miles and 3rd - Sarah Link.  7th/8th grade Team:  1st - Chase Russell, 2nd - Marissa Eschman and 3rd - Justin Bagby.

2/19/10 - Congratulations to the Academic Team members who competed in the Regional tournament at Bullitt Lick.  Our Future Problem Solving Team, consisting of Phillip Burress, Alex Carter, Craig English and Kyle Starkey, earned First Place.  Sal Lanci placed Third in Arts and Humanities and Fifth in Language Arts.  The Quick Recall Team, consisting of Cody Higdon, Sal Lanci, Megan Davis, Phillip Burress, Craig English, Darby Capito and Emily Potts, placed 4th overall.   The Future Problem Solvers and Sal Lanci will go on to compete at the State Competition on March 13th - 15th.  Good Luck to them.  Click here for pictures.

2/17/10 - The Eastside Cheerleaders placed 2nd in the Large Junior High Division at the 2010 UCA Cheerleading Championships at Disney World.  UCA is the largest and most elite cheerleading organization and this was the 30th year for this National Championship event.  Click here for video from the competition.
