Jason Well's 7th grade Science class was issued
an end-of-the-year challenge: Create a container that will
protect an egg when dropped from a height.
With the assistance of former Hebron student,
Captain Steven Corbin and Firefighters Dachille, Mosely, and
MIller of the Zoneton Fire Department, each contender was lifted
to a height and dropped. Firefighter Mosely operated the
ladder while Firefighter Miller dropped the eggs from the end of
the ladder.
After several rounds, only Kevin Maddocks and
Megan Jackson survived to see their eggs raised to 90 feet.
Kevin's egg splattered and Megan's did not, so she was declared
the winner of the competition.

Megan's sole surviving egg was then raised to
the full height of the extension ladder, 109 feet (5 stories).
The height proved too much for the egg, which splattered upon
impact.
