MWES Fall Family Fun Night
Thursday, October 23, 6:30-8 pm

We are having a Fall Family Fun Night on Thursday, October 23rd from 6:30 to 8:00. It is going to be a great night for our families to engage in math games, reading activities and learn more about the technology that is available. The students are encouraged to wear their non-gory costumes and trick or treat the halls after they have complete reading and math activities. We will also have a performance by the MWES Choir, a fabulous story teller, fire pits and s’mores! It is going to be a great night. We are partnering with Mercy Academy to collect art supplies for students in need. We are asking for a donation of an art supply to support this project. Some supplies needed are: crayons, watercolors, scissors, glue, glitter, etc.) This is not an event you will want to miss. Look for an informational flyer about this great event in your child’s Tuesday Folder.

Just a few reminders...

School will not be back in session for students until Tuesday, October 14th.

Our class ballgames will continue next week! (Class schedule available to the left.) This is always a fun and exciting experience for our students and absolutely enjoyable to watch. Invite grandparents, friends, and neighbors to come see our games! The focus for the games is to encourage exercise and sportsmanship. Remember the expectation is that students must be at school the day they are scheduled to play. The games will be played at Crossroads Elementary again this year. There will be a $2 admission fee for adults and $1 for students...except for players, volunteer officials and those under 5. Profits from the games will benefit our school physical fitness program. I look forward to seeing you at our games. Please remember that we are playing our games at Crossroads Elementary. Students are to wear their MWES team shirts or a shirt of the same color. Numbers and names are optional. NOTE: We are in need of some referees for all four nights. Please email me @ terri.lewis@bullitt.kyschools.us if you would be available to help out.

Join us at Moe’s for Family Night on October 24th. Information is coming soon.

MWES will hold our fall Halloween parties on Friday, October 31st from 2:30–3:30 pm. MWES does not allow students to dress in costumes. This is to guard instructional time and to ensure student safety. Instead of Halloween costumes, we are inviting students to wear a college t-shirt to support their favorite college team! This would be a great opportunity to talk with your student about their future college and/or career choices. Every student that wears a college shirt will have their name put into a drawing for a $10 Toys-R-Us card. Our goal is to have more than 20 different colleges represented.

Blessings,
Terri Lewis
Principal, MWES

Box Tops for Education Pay
Keep sending in your neatly cut BOX TOP$ on a Box Top entry form that you may pick up from the office (or click here to print one).

You may also send in Box Tops that have been neatly cut out in a ziplock bag. Please place BONUS Box Tops in a separate bag. Please label how many Box Tops are in the bag and the student’s name on the outside of the bag.

We are also taking part in a national fundraising program sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. called Tyson Project A+™. Through this program, we can raise as much as $12,000 for our school this year! All we have to do to participate is clip and save the entire Project A+™ label from participating Tyson products. Each label we collect is worth 24˘ for our school. For more information, including eligible products click here.
