CLASS SUPPLY LISTS

Principal's Corner

Parenting Partners,

Last week was a very trying week for all of us. Thank you for all your patience and understanding as we had to adjust class sizes. It was a hectic 36 hours! Since the students moved to their new classrooms, it has been smooth sailing. A big Thank You to the staff who reorganized and began a new classroom virtually overnight. The transition has been a testimony to what a wonderful school community we have here. Always know that my door is open and I am eager to meet with you anytime you have questions or concerns. Together we can make this is great learning year for all of our students.

Last Thursday evening we met for our 2010/2011 PTA organizational meeting. Thank you to everyone who came and offered their assistance, suggestions and ideas. A letter will be coming home in this week’s Tuesday folder with details about PTA offices. We need your help!

Tuesday MWES will kick off our first fundraiser! Look for the brochure in the Tuesday folder. Please consider helping us with this catalog sale. Profits from this sale will allow us to continue purchasing needed technology updates for our classrooms and to address other school wide needs.

Have a blessed week!

Terri Lewis

The 2010-2011 school year marks the beginning of our TENTH year participating in the Market Day fundraising program – the original fundraising food co-op, which has been in operation since 1975 and has grown to include thousands of schools just like ours.

Over the past nine years we have raised nearly $35,000
(yes, thirty-five THOUSAND dollars)
through the Market Day program.

Our goal this year is to earn $3,000 and we can earn this money without our students going door-to-door, without purchasing products we wouldn't ordinarily purchase, and with the knowledge that all products are of exceptional quality and covered by a Satisfaction Guarantee!

This month’s order sheet will be coming home with your student very soon (or click on the brochure photo to the left) and another will follow each month.  Please take a few minutes to review it and place an order, which can be done any number of ways: online at www.marketday.com, complete the order form included in the order sheet and return it to school with your child, or contact Angela Jump (email or 419.5175) to place your order.

This fundraising program will not only benefit our school and the programs we support, but will also benefit you as the consumer, so please give Market Day a try!

If you have any questions or would like more information about the Market Day program, please contact Angela Jump, MWES Market Day Chair (email  or 419.5175).

We look forward to seeing you at our Market Day sale on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 6 p.m.

Box Tops for Education Pay

Don't forget our BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION program!  This is an easy way to help MWES raise needed funds to support our students. If you would like more information, click here.

We are also taking part in a national fundraising program sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. called Tyson Project A+™. Through this program, we can raise as much as $12,000 for our school this year! All we have to do to participate is clip and save the entire Project A+™ label from participating Tyson products. Each label we collect is worth 24˘ for our school. For more information, including eligible products click here.
