What is a Family Resource Center (FRC)?
Family Resource Centers (FRCs)
were created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) with
the intent of enhancing students' ability to succeed in school by
assisting children and their families to meet needs that have an impact
on the education process. This assistance is offered at the FRC, in the
schools, and by linking families to agencies in the community. The MWES
FRC began in 2007.
What Services Does the FRC
Provide?
The MWES FRC provides a variety of services,
including the following:

Workshops (on a wide variety of topics)

Parent Contacts

Resource Library (books, videos, and
pamphlets)

Information / referrals to community
agencies

Assistance and referrals to obtain basic
needs (e.g., clothing, food, school supplies)
Who Can Use the FRC Services?
All services accessible through
the MWES FRC are available to all students attending MWES, their
families, and anyone living in the community surrounding MWES -- all
regardless of family income.
When is the FRC Open?
Office hours of the MWES FRC are
Monday - 12:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday - by appointment
Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. – Noon
Thursday - Noon – 4:30 p.m.
Friday - 8:30 a.m. – Noon
