School News

The SBDM has to replace Mr. Tim Wiseheart due to his being elected to the Board of Education.  The SBDM election will be held December 8, 2008.  The requirements to be a SBDM member are: 1.  You must be a legal parent/guardian of a student who attends MWMS this 2008-2009 school year.  2.  The person cannot be employed at MWMS or have a relative employed at MWMS or at the Central Office.  Meetings are held on the early release days, the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 3:30.  You must be able to attend these meetings.  If you are interested in this position, please watch for a form coming home with your student.  All nominations must be returned by November 21, 2008.

MWMS will be celebrating Spirit Days November 19, 20 and 21.  There will be a variety of activities going on to help celebrate MWMS and all of our accomplishments.  In addition to celebrating our past accomplishments, we will also be rooting for our girls basketball team who will be competing in county-wide tournaments during this week.  Check the website frequently for more information regarding spirit days.

Are you looking for an AR book, click on this link to be taken to a service Mrs. Nation has purchased that allows you to easily check for AR tests within our library.  Please keep in mind that we do have tests for some books that we no longer own (they've been lost, damaged or stolen). 

World Book Online is now available to the students at MWMS.  This service allows students an excellent resource for doing research and help with homework.  By going to www.worldbookonline.com and entering the username/password of Bullitt, students have a wealth of knowledge at the click of their mouse.

If you are interested in volunteering at Mt. RECYCLE your empty cartridges!  You can help Mt. Washington Middle School raise money by donating your empty laser and inkjet cartridges.  Bring them to Mrs. Nation in the library for recycling.

Remember to keep collecting the Campbell's Soup Labels and the Box Tops for Education Labels.  The school is able to redeem these items for money that supports programs within our school.  You can turn the labels into Christy Kirk, who is located in the front office.   You have any questions about this program or would like to help with the program you can contact Christy at 502-538-4227 or click here to email her.
