ATTENTION PARENTS OF JUNIORS! Below is some information from Mr. Dave Marshall, Director of Secondary Schools for BCPS. BCPS currently offers on campus dual credit classes through Bellarmine and ECTC and schools may certainly continue those as the need is present. We have agreements in place with Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) and now with the University of Louisville for great opportunities. JCTC Classes are taken at the JCTC campus on Buffalo Run (off of Cedar Grove). It’s the old judicial center, completely remodeled and the current home of the Bullitt County campus for JCTC. Classes are $180 per three credit college class (that’s a deal, current students are paying $386) Classes are offered in late morning/early afternoon and are M, W or T, Th classes with a Friday seminar Students sign out from school (like co-op or UPS) and drive themselves to class Students who pass the class earn BOTH high school AND college credit for the same class Students generally take English 101 and 102, College Algebra, Psychology and Public Speaking Grades are factored into their high school transcript Courses transfer to most Kentucky colleges Students can earn TWELVE college hours in their senior year for only $720 Minimum GPA and ACT scores apply (see counselors for those details) University of Louisville Classes are taken ON the U of L campus. Whatever classes students are able to register for and meet entry requirements are available to them. Minimum GPA and ACT scores apply Tuition is only 1/3 of what regular U of L students pay! READ THIS CAREFULLY…..Students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch may attend FREE OF CHARGE!!! Students sign themselves out from school and drive themselves to U of L. (NOTE: We would be willing to run a bus up there if the need was there) Students receive a U of L ID card and can use all college facilities, buy student tickets for ballgames, concerts, etc. Grades are factored into their high school transcript Classes transfer just like any other U of L class would
