Way to go Superheroes John Hileman, Dustin Norton, Jeff Parrish, and Chad Rodgers for being a Watch DOG!  We truly appreciate your time, dedication, and involvement at PGE.  Our students and staff enjoyed spending the day with you.  What a wonderful way to show off positive superpowers to our students.

Thank you, Lea Burroughs, Kim Durbin, Jessica Fust, and Krissy Giles for your help with Kona Ice on Friday. Thanks to your time and dedication to PGE, students were able to enjoy a refreshing treat during their outside activity time.  We appreciate each of you and for all that you do!!

Thank you, Ashleigh Bowman, Lisa Carney, Sherrie Craft, Kim Durbin, Krissy Giles, Karla Hall, Julie Hall, Kristen Hammack, Tara Haubeil, Kristi Hayes, Nicole Lewis, Jessica Mahooney, Ashley Moses, Lisa Slaughter, Linda Prewitt, Rachel Waddle, Katina Wallace, and Jennifer Williams and to our PTA – Gina Dickey, Dustin Norton, Andrea Hartell, Angie Gray, Kristi Royall, and Debbie Hudson who came out to help with our annual PTA Fall Festival.  It was a huge success!  We are blessed with wonderful parent and community support – it is because of you that we are able to have such fun events for our kids throughout the year! 

The 5th + 6th Grade Girls Cross Country team which includes athletes from Pleasant Grove won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP meet this past Saturday in Lexington!!!!!!!!   This is the second year in a row that they have won this meet.  What a talented group of girls!  Below are some of the highlights:

  • EMMA EGAN – PGES 12th of 362 runners.

Those Open race finishers were:

  • EMILY TINELLI – PGES 53rd of 124 runners.
  • In the Girls 4th Grade and under race, LOGAN ORTEGA placed a SUPER AWESOME 2nd overall out of 305 runners.  Also, Camryn Poole placed 41st.
  • In the Boys 4th Grade and under race, ETHAN HENNIG placed 97th out of 297 runners and JoJo Burnett placed 236th.
  • In the Boys 5th + 6th Grade race, DALTON LESHER placed an outstanding 9th out of 431 runners and TYLER BASS placed 142nd.

Way to go, PGES Chess Team!  They earned 1st place in the K-5 division at the Chess Tournament this past weekend.    Below are the individual results:

  •  K-5 division – 1st place Quentin Vandeerver, 3rd place Trey Hayes, 5th place Maddie Hurley,  8th place Eric Lopez, 22nd place Shelby Bale 
  •  K-5 USCF Rated division – 3rd place Blake Harlamert
  • K-3 division – 4th place Seth Yates, 5th place Alex Hayes, 8th place Corey Hundley

PTA News

The PTA is doing a Bonus Days Desserts (Market Day) pie fundraiser.  Flyers were sent home last week in Tuesday Folders.  Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards a new swing set for our playground.  Orders are due by November 5.  You will pick up your orders at the school on November 13 at 5:15.  The class who sells the most pies will be rewarded with a pie eating party.  Classes with 100% participation will attend a throw a pie in the principal’s face party.  What a tasty way to help update a much-loved outside activity for our students!
